West Kulin Tin Horses
On the west side of town you will find many tin horses including the BIGGEST tin horse in the region! The ‘West Kulin Whoppa’ tin horse is a reflection of many years of friendly competition between East and West Kulin farmers. The tin horses on the western side of Kulin town provide a fantastic introduction to the Bush Races and the Tin Horse Highway.
Macrocarpa Walk Trail
The sheep and grain-farming districts surrounding Kulin provide spectacular wildflower displays in season (Sept – Dec). The flowering gum, Eucalyptus macrocarpa, is the town's floral emblem and can be viewed along this brilliant walk trail, located only 1 kilometre west of Kulin.
Kulin Town
The vibrant town of Kulin offers a fantastic array of visitor experiences. Its high quality accommodation, recreation facilities and services make it very convenient stopover for those travelling to Wave Rock or between Perth and Esperance.
Discovery Zone
Kulin’s brand new Visitor Discovery Zone has transformed the towns central precinct. The area showcases Kulin and surrounding areas in a unique and informal way, giving visitors a sense of the region’s history and identity. The zone is complete with BBQ, shelters, public amenities and 48 Hr RV parking. This project is supported by the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program.
Giant Water Slide and Aquatic Centre
The biggest water slide in regional WA! At 182 meters long and 18 meters high, the Kulin Water Slide provides hours of endless summer fun and excitement for people of all ages. For a more relaxing experience, cool off in our brand new swimming pool. The Kulin Aquatic Centre and Water Slide are open in the summer months.
Butler’s Garage (Kulin Museum)
Built in the mid 1920s, Butlers Garage operated in Kulin until 1994. Today it has been restored and houses the Kulin Museum. The museum contains an impressive collection of vintage cars, farm equipment and machinery. The Museum is open on Saturday mornings from 8.30am – 12pm.
Tin Horse Highway
The Wheatbelt’s most popular drive trail, Tin horse Highway is definitely a laughing matter! Made from bits and pieces found lying around a farm, this collection of clever community ‘art’ provides a seriously entertaining drive.
Jilakin Lake and Rock (No Camping)
15 kilometres east of Kulin is the spectacular grey monolith, Jilakin Rock. An easy climb to the top of the rock provides spectacular views of Jilakin Lake and the surrounding Wheatbelt. At its base, you will find a shady picnic spot. Jilakin Rock also boasts the most isolated known stand of jarrah (150 kilometers from the main jarrah belt), surviving on the water run off and quarry soils at the base of the rock. Camping is NOT permitted at Jilakin Rock and facilities here are for picnics only. Kulin town welcomes fully self-contained travelers to use our fantastic 72 HR RV Friendly Camping Area located on our main street.
Kulin Bush Races (Every October)
Go bush every October! The Kulin Bush Races weekend is much more than a day at the races – it is an indulgence of spectacular scenery, art, crafts, novelty events, children’s entertainment, live bands and delicious country style food. Find out more!
Buckley’s Breakaway
Buckley’s Breakaway is a picturesque landform where erosion has cut through the orange laterite and formed spectacular white cliffs and gullies from the underlying clay. The gully is dominated by Cypress Pine, Blue Mallet and Box Poison, but it is the top of the “breakaway” which carries the most interesting plants. Look for delicate orchids, trigger plants and sundews. At the site you will find interpretive information about the area, a fabulous picnic spot and endless photo opportunities!

recognised as being one of the most biodiverse areas in the world! The Kulin Shire has an abundance of wonderful wildflower reserves and roadsides which put on a spectacular seasonal show of color.
Wave Rock
Wave Rock, near the Wheatbelt town of Hyden, is one of Australia's most iconic landforms. Rising 15 metres from the ground and more than 100 metres long, the giant surf wave of multicoloured granite is believed to have taken 2,700 million years to form. Find out more
